Richard is a lead paediatric audiologist within the NHS, and understands first-hand just how challenging it can be for parents/carers when you feel that you child might be experiencing a hearing loss. The first meeting It can be overwhelming when you first find out that your child is having issues with their hearing but with the right help and advice, it needn’t have a massive impact on their life. Because there’s no waiting list, your child will have a hearing test with our qualified audiologist at a time and date that suits you. We’ll talk you through every step of the process, including how a hearing aid works and the best way to select, operate, and care for one. Experienced in testing and fitting hearing aids for children of all ages, we’ll help you find one that’s right for your child. Choosing the right hearing aid It’s important to adjust, fine-tune and modify your child’s hearing aid, adapting ear moulds as they grow and constantly gauging the extent of their hearing loss. Hearing loss can present a number of challenges for children as they grow up, especially in the classroom, but it’s important to remember that hearing loss needn’t affect a child’s school years. Using assistive listening devices, hearings aids can now connect to technology like mobile phones, tablets and TVs, giving children even more freedom and independence. Support every step of the way It’s important that children use their hearing aids as much as possible. With free unlimited visits to our clinic for the life of the warranty, we’ll be here to offer advice on how your child can wear their hearing aids safely and comfortably. Offering consistent aftercare from one point of contact, our expert audiologist is on hand to make your child feel comfortable and relaxed with their hearing aid. Because we don’t want them to think about anything other than being a kid.
